The short answer
How does NetSuite AI differ from an AI built into another ERP?
NetSuite offers native AI through NetSuite Next and Ask Oracle, plus an AI Connector Service that connects external assistants through MCP. Agaro Agent is the one AI inside Agaro ERP, with the same roles and access as the person who asks. Both work around ERP records, so the choice depends on which ERP you need, the controls available, and whether you want native help, an external assistant, or both.
At a glance
- Who it is for
- Teams choosing an ERP and an AI together, or deciding whether NetSuite’s AI is reason enough to stay.
- Starting price
- Agaro Agent is included on paid plans from $29 per full user per month, with AI credits. NetSuite publishes no list price, and its subscription depends on platform, modules and users.
- What moves over
- Nothing has to move to evaluate. Agaro reads NetSuite customers, vendors, employees, accounts and transactions through your own connection if you later switch.
- Where Oracle NetSuite AI is the better fit
- Your entities, reporting, integrations and processes already run in NetSuite and its native AI or connector path covers the workflow you need.
- $29 Essentials, per full user per month
- $49 Scale, adds Studio custom modules and 1,000 AI credits a month
- Free CRM for one user, to start
- $0 Employee accounts on paid plans
The problem
How do you separate the AI options before comparing them?
NetSuite AI is not one product, so name the path you mean first.
-
Native assistant or connected assistant?
Ask Oracle and an external AI tool connected over MCP are different interaction paths. Confirm which experience your team will use and who administers it.
-
Existing ERP or new operating system?
An existing NetSuite deployment carries configured records, workflows, integrations and training. Account for those investments before considering a different ERP.
-
A role is only part of the test
Demonstrate access restrictions, allowed operations, confirmation steps and activity history against the same records. Do not infer complete workflow coverage from an AI label.
-
Confirm your rollout scope
List the entities, currencies, reports, inventory processes and payroll jurisdictions you need. Ask each team to demonstrate those requirements alongside its AI.

Vendor pages reviewed October 18, 2026 · Page updated
Official NetSuite pages reviewed October 18, 2026. NetSuite AI is not a single standalone product: native AI and the AI Connector Service have different deployment paths. Confirm contract scope and availability directly. Sources: NetSuite Next and Ask Oracle, NetSuite AI Connector Service and MCP controls.
Does NetSuite have its own AI and an external assistant path?
Yes. NetSuite documents Ask Oracle for conversational interaction within NetSuite Next. Its separate AI Connector Service exposes governed tools to compatible external assistants. That distinction matters when you assess where prompts are handled and how tools are configured.
Agaro Agent is the interactive AI in the Agaro ERP workspace. Our evaluation starts with the native business operation: which record changes, what the ERP validates, whether confirmation is required, and what history the user can review. Open API and MCP access are separate Scale plan capabilities.
Should I replace NetSuite to get a different AI?
Not on AI alone. Adding an assistant and replacing an ERP are different projects. Keep an existing system when its entity structure, reporting, integrations and processes meet your requirements and its AI path solves the workflow you need.
Evaluate Agaro when you are choosing the operating system itself and want to review finance, customers, people, inventory and projects in a connected workspace. During the Preview / Pilot, ask the product team to show your required processes and explain current limitations before you commit to a migration.
What should a trial of an ERP’s AI prove?
Bring a customer record, a sample service or product and a representative business request. Confirm that the AI finds only the permitted records, that the ERP produces the correct result, and that the approval control you require is visible. Inspect the resulting record rather than relying on a conversational success message.
Then compare the plan and allowance. Agaro Essentials is $29 and Scale is $49 per full user per month, with AI credits for Agaro Agent. Ask NetSuite for the applicable quote, and compare the complete scope. For rough numbers, see the NetSuite cost comparison.
When is NetSuite AI the better fit?
If your finances, entities and reporting already run in NetSuite and its native AI or connector path covers your workflow, extending it preserves your records, integrations and staff knowledge.
Switching makes sense when the ERP itself no longer fits, not because of one AI feature.
How it works
How do you evaluate a finance and operations request?
-
Choose the actual data source
Identify the ERP of record and whether the AI is native to it or connected through MCP. List the records required for the request.
-
Test a supported operation
In Agaro, try a permitted invoice, contact or task operation. Review both the response and the resulting ERP record.
-
Check governance at the boundary
Test restricted data and an operation that needs confirmation. For any external assistant path, also inspect the granted tools and the connected role.
-
Compare the ongoing operating work
Include configuration, integrations, account administration, support and AI consumption. Choose the workflow your team can operate reliably.
Built around your business
Can I customize Agaro ERP without a consultant?

Frequently asked questions
Questions about NetSuite AI
Does NetSuite have an AI assistant?
Yes. NetSuite documents Ask Oracle within NetSuite Next, as well as embedded AI. It also offers the AI Connector Service for compatible external assistants.
Does NetSuite support MCP?
Yes. The NetSuite AI Connector Service uses MCP and documents tools governed by NetSuite roles and permissions. Agaro’s Scale plan also lists Open API and MCP access; confirm the tool coverage you need in either product.
Do I need to leave NetSuite to use AI?
No. NetSuite offers native AI and an external assistant connection path. Evaluate a different ERP only if its operating model and supported workflows better fit your business.
Is Agaro Agent available to try?
Agaro ERP is in its Preview / Pilot phase. Talk to the product team about joining the pilot, demonstrate the exact workflows you need, and confirm module availability, controls and migration requirements.
How much does NetSuite cost compared with an ERP that includes AI?
NetSuite publishes no list price, so guides are the only public source. See the NetSuite alternative comparison for the reported ranges and a 20 user example.
Does the ERP support role based and attribute based access control?
Yes. Essentials and Scale include role and attribute based access control on top of five built in roles: custom access groups with inheritance, access levels per module, read, write, create and delete rights per data type, menu visibility, record rules and field level security. Agaro Agent follows the same rules as the person who asks, so it can never see or change more than they can.
